Developed in partnership with Level Crossing Removal Project and John Holland, the new structure is a scaled train station, complete with a platform, access ramps, rails, seating, and station signage.
Constructionarium Australia is delighted to announce a new structure for its Melbourne training program, which will help emerging professionals in infrastructure and construction gain real-world project experience in a safe training environment.
Developed in partnership with Level Crossing Removal Project and John Holland, the new structure is a scaled train station, complete with a platform, access ramps, rails, seating, and station signage.
Named LXRP Central, the scale station will become a centrepiece of Constructionarium Australia’s Melbourne program and will make its debut in July as an all-female cohort of emerging professionals spends eight days experiencing a full project lifecycle from tender to client handover.
“We are thrilled to debut a new structure for our upcoming all-female build program,” said Constructionarium Australia CEO Nicky Vaisey. “One of the key goals of Constructionarium is to work with our partners to create a diverse range of learning opportunities across various project types. With Victora leading the way in groundbreaking world-class rail infrastructure projects, LXRP Central is the perfect addition to our program. When coupled with the Big Build Bridge and upcoming water battery program, LXRP Central will enable more participants to gain experience, build networks and accelerate their professional and personal development.”
“Constructionarium Australia would like to thank Level Crossing Removal Project and John Holland for their support of our program and investment in a new training structure that will offer our participants a challenging and rewarding experience. The leadership shown by both organisations is a testament to collaboration, investment in people and a desire to increase capability and capacity across the sector.”
The first LXRP Central Build Program will commence at Constructionarium Australia’s Hallam site from 3 July to 12 July. Across days 1-3, the cohort will work as two independent teams competing to win the contract to build LXRP Central before unifying as a single team to construct the structure.
“With an 18m long and 3m wide platform and access ramp weighing in at 35 tonnes, 12m of rails and 5 tonnes of sleepers, plus seating, signage and fit-out elements, the structure is going to pose several new challenges for our cohort, and we are excited to see how they undertake the delivery of LXRP Central,” said Nicky.
