As Constructionarium grows across Queensland and Victoria, we are always thrilled to be able to welcome new partners to the program
As Constructionarium grows across Queensland and Victoria, we are always thrilled to be able to welcome new partners to the program. For our first Queensland program of the year, we’re thrilled to welcome Hawthorne Civil as the lead contractor for their first program, an Eleanor Schonell Bridge Build.
Taking place in Brisbane at The Construction Training Centre, the build program will see a cohort of emerging construction and infrastructure professionals undertake the end-to-end management of a construction project from tender to delivery as they work towards delivering a 6-metre-high, 24-metre-long and 1:8 scale replica of the city’s first green bridge which connects the University of Queensland at St Lucia to Dutton Park. Designed by SMEC and fabricated in partnership with BlueScope, RPG Processing, Beenleigh Steel Fabrication and Moddex, the structure uses REDCOR® weathering steel, a new material to Queensland and one that offers participants experience working with new technology.
Constructionarium Australia’s Nicky Vaisey welcomed Hawthorne Civil to Constructionarium, “We are delighted to work in partnership with Enda and the team at Hawthorne Civil across our first Brisbane build of the year. Our program relies on the industry's willingness to invest time, resources, effort and energy into supporting, inspiring and mentoring the next generation of industry professionals and leaders. On behalf of everyone involved with Constructionarium, I’d like to thank Hawthorne Civil for being part of this build program and look forward to working with them across the upcoming build program.”
Hawthorne Civil's Zdravko Cvetanoski, says, “Constructionarium aligns with our values as we are committed to developing our people, networks, relationships and industry through a collaborative approach to problem-solving. As a growing organisation committed to the industry in Queensland and beyond, participating in a build program was a natural step in our growth and a great way for us to give back to the industry and support its future leaders. We are excited to be part of the build and can’t wait to meet the participants and spend time with them as they take on the planning, costing, scheduling and delivery of the Hawthorne Civil Eleanor Schonell Bridge.”
