The first day of Constructionarium is in full swing with a new set of eager minds at work
The rain may be looming, but the first day of Constructionarium is in full swing with a new set of eager minds at work.
Over the coming eight days, participants will be forming teams and together, learn to plan, tender, build and handover a large scale project that resembles an iconic civil engineering feat – the Story Bridge.
Today’s sessions was in the comfort of the classroom, beginning with a lesson on how LinkedIn and storytelling can help build students professional profiles. A special lunch and learn was presented by Nelson Ganhao, which dug deep into the “Original Story Bridge Design and Intent.” Then onto the first core theme sessions based on Tenders.
Through the week we’ll see presentations from a host of industry experts, including major sponsor Georgiou, who will support the cohort with project management expertise, mentoring, and advice to deliver their project to time, budget, and specification. Without the help of all our sponsors, Constructionarium would not be possible, so we are pleased to have everyone coming together over the course of this special event.
We are expecting this week to be extra trying with the weather. However even the best projects can be severely tested by circumstances beyond their control. So, with rain and potential flash flooding on the forecast, the cohort will need to adapt their methodology, to ensure everyone can work safely and avoid disruption where possible. We look forward to seeing their results over the coming days.
